image2webp is designed so that conversion happens on your device using WebAssembly in the browser. Your images and videos are not sent to our servers for processing.

What we do not collect

• We do not ask you to upload files to our infrastructure.
• We do not store your originals or converted WebP files on our systems.
• We do not require an account to use the tool.

How processing works

When you use the site, compatible codecs and WASM modules load into your browser. File reads and encoding occur in your browser's memory. Downloads are initiated locally on your machine.

Hosting and typical server logs

Like any website, the host may record standard HTTP data such as IP address, user agent, and requested path for security and operations. That is separate from your image or video content and is governed by the host's own policies.

Cookies and local storage

The app does not rely on cookies for core conversion. Your browser may cache static assets such as scripts and WASM for performance.

Children

The service is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.

We may update this page when the product or hosting changes. The last updated date at the top will reflect substantive edits.
